Doula Visits.
One-on-one doula support is provided to you throughout your journey.
All visits are done in person at the location of your choice. Whether you prefer to have your doula meet you at home, at a park, a library, or a local cafe, our doulas come to you where you are comfortable.
Our doulas on staff are amazing - and offer Full Spectrum support, services in English, Spanish, and Haitian-Creole.

We care deeply about our client’s experience. From the moment you are onboarded, you are walked through our services by our amazing client services team. Our Client Care Coordinator will meet with you over the phone, get to know you and what you are looking for in a doula. We will then do our best to pair you with someone who meets those needs - based on availability!
Once you are paired with a doula, our Client Care Coordinator will check in on you to see how the visits are going. We encourage you to reach out to us if you need anything at all - from the beginning of your journey with us, to the end. We are here to help you!

When you choose For the Village, you are getting one-on-one, in-person support from a dedicated doula and a full administrative support team to help you navigate all of the pieces.
And in addition to all of the visits outlined above, you will also have access to:
One free in-home Lactation Support visit by Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, as needed
Free Childbirth Education classes led by licensed Midwives every other month (Virtually on Zoom) offered both in English and Spanish*. (*Spanish offered monthly).
Free Lactation Education led by a Board-Certified Lactation Consultant classes every other month (Virtually on Zoom) offered both in English and Spanish
Free Monthly Perinatal Wellness Circles with a Licensed Therapist for general wellness about pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood
Up to three free Bereavement & Loss Support visits with a Bereavement Doula, as needed
Free One-on-One or Group Therapy Referral for free visits with Licensed Mental Health Clinicians, as needed
Referral to Enhanced Care Management services if additional holistic support is needed with navigating healthcare, housing, food security, and general wellness
What is included?
We follow the approved visit guideline for Medi-Cal, which includes:
One 90 minute Initial Visit
8 Perinatal Visits (across prenatal and postpartum) 1 hour in length
Support during the duration of your birth
2 extended visits during the postpartum period of 3 hours each
& with a provider’s approval, 9 more postpartum visits as needed!
Your visits will be scheduled through our secure platform, Doulado. Doulado is a one-stop shop for scheduling, messaging your doula or the admin team, accessing resources, updating your insurance, and more.
For The Village doulas provide in-person care, unless virtual services are approved for special circumstances.
For The Village prides itself in providing client-centered care that focuses on the power our clients have in the care that they receive. In order for your doula to best serve you, you must be in regular contact. For labor and birth support especially, you must call your doula at the first signs of labor to ensure that they can be present with you.
